Prosperitati Foundation has supported 16 thousand successful projects in ten years
The Prosperitati Foundation celebrated its tenth anniversary, and launched the first competitions in January 2016.
This regional and development foundation of Vojvodina Hungarians during the past decade has supported more than sixteen thousand successful projects, including the development of entrepreneurship, agricultural investments, and the purchase of houses.
Zita Nađ, executive director of the Prosperitati Foundation, said: “This year, the Foundation celebrates ten years of existence. Ten years have passed since the first ten calls for tenders ‘exploded’ on the Internet. Vojvodina Hungarians were very excited, they felt that something special was happening, they believed and applied. Already the first round of tenders was a huge step forward, but the ultimate goal envisioned by Ištvan Pastor was not yet fully felt. Today we are talking about 16,074 successful projects and we continue on.”
Balint Juhas, who managed the work of the foundation for eight and a half years, emphasized in his address that the program played a key role in strengthening the Vojvodina Hungarian community. The number of companies has increased, and more and more people are managing to make a living in their homeland. He emphasized that both small and large producers, as well as entrepreneurs, are supported: “The winners of the Prosperitati Foundation’s competition ensure the livelihood of 15,000 employees – this should definitely be emphasized. If we add to that the individual winners of the competition, their employees, 1,300 winners for the purchase of houses and their families, we can say that we are approaching the number of 70,000 Vojvodina Hungarians whom we directly covered with the program and directly helped to stay in these spaces.”
Peter Kis-Parciu, Hungarian Deputy Secretary of State responsible for regional and cross-border economic development, in his speech called this initiative a pioneering program, emphasizing the support of the Hungarian government and the development of a new development strategy for the next seven years, which will represent an extremely important element of the next decade: “Today, in addition to the jubilee, we are also celebrating the good results of the program. On occasions like this, it is necessary to look at where we are, what we have done so far and in which direction we are going. If we look back, we can say that, in cooperation with the Prosperitati Foundation, an investment worth almost half a billion euros was realized in the region, and we are talking about more than 16,000 successful applicants.”
This celebration was attended by representatives of the HEPA Agency from Budapest as well as representatives of the HEPA for the Western Balkans
