Hungarian MOL could double fuel deliveries to Serbia due to sanctions on NIS
The Hungarian MOL Group is ready to deliver twice as much fuel to Serbia, Senior Vice President for Fuels at MOL Group, Csaba Zsoter, said for RTS, following the announcement of the imposition of sanctions on NIS.
– We are ready to increase the supply in accordance with our possibilities. We can even double the quantity of the fuel we deliver to Serbia. We have already introduced changes to the logistics process in order to be able to react fast, if there’s a need for it. Also, we are cooperating with the Hungarian authorities to the end of facilitating the crossing of the border checkpoint and the prevention of delays – said Zsoter.
He pointed out that another key thing was an active participation of the decision-makers in Serbia, as well as their support, in order to maintain a stable fuel supply.
– There are currently serious logistics obstacles to efficient transport and distribution of fuel, and the existing capacities are not sufficient for the supply of Serbia in case NIS stops working. The state therefore has to create administrative pre-conditions so that the import to Serbia would increase as much as possible. This requires access to all local storage capacities, as well as enabling the access of ships with foreign flags at all terminals – said Zsoter.
